Vision Statement


It is the vision of the Bucksport Fire and Ambulance to be known as a modern and progressive leader in fire, rescue and emergency medical services.  This will be accomplished by utilizing the best personnel, training and equipment, producing an environment that fosters the health and welfare of our Members and those of the Community.  We will invoke a commitment to excellence by practicing the values of Respect, Honesty, Integrity and Professionalism for ourselves and our Community.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Bucksport Fire and Ambulance is to mitigate and minimize the loss of Life and Property as a result of Fire, Medical, and other Emergencies through dynamic Public Safety and Prevention Education, Planning, Inspections, Emergency Medical Services, efficient use of available Resources and aggressive Emergency Response.  We uphold a pledge to distinction, through Professionalism, Honesty, and Integrity.  ‘Let’s not meet by accident!'

Fire StationService Statements

The Bucksport Fire and Ambulance Department is a combination full-time department augmented by one full-time Deputy Fire Chief, three full-time Captains/Paramedics, and three full-time Firefighter/Paramedics as well as 10 per-diem and 12 paid per-call staff.  The Station is manned at a minimum by two personnel 24-hours a day, 7-days per week, along with 1 per-diem Firefighter/EMT during the day, 7-days per week. The Department provides Fire service coverage to the communities of Bucksport and Verona and Emergency Medical Service coverage to the communities of Bucksport, Orland and Verona.  We share an automatic mutual-aid agreement with the Orland Fire Department as well as mutual aid agreements with Orrington and Stockton Springs and are part of the Hancock County mutual-aid system.  We share EMS mutual-aid with County, PAC, Stockton Springs, Orrington, Capital and Bangor Fire Department. All calls received for services are dispatched through the Bucksport Public Safety Dispatch.  We have one station that houses 3-Advanced Life Support permitted Ambulances, 2-Engines, 1-Quick Response Engine, 1-100ft Aerial Ladder, 1-Medium-duty Rescue Truck, 1-Utility/Brush Truck, and 1-Light Rescue Boat.
