Bucksport's harbor is about one nautical mile long, and provides breathtaking views of Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory. Whether you are visiting us for the day or longer, we have dockage for you at our Public Dock or our Municipal Marina.

Town of Bucksport - Public Dock
  • Dock construction: a 315' wooden float system attached to steel I beam pilings, and connected by an aluminum ramp system to a stationary wooden pier.
  • Depth at dock face: Measured at mean low water approximately 15'
  • Water: Town water from 5/8" hose at 60 psi.
  • Electricity: 30 and 50-amp outlets

Town of Bucksport - Municipal Marina
The municipal marina offers customers the ability to purchase seasonal or transient slips to dock their vessel while in Town. The marina incorporates a locked security fence shore-side and has 50 slips with vessels generally ranging up to 50'. The municipal marina is located ESE 100' from the Bucksport Public Dock.

The marina season runs from May 15th - October 15th.

Adjacent Facilities:
Former Verso Paper Company Dock is located upriver just the other side of Oil Tanker Dock, at 2,000 feet WNW from the Bucksport Town Dock. This dock is generally used by the State of Maine Department of Environmental Protection’s 150 foot, 5,000 barrel, oil recovery barge and one or two tug boats.

Oil Tanker Dock is where tankers and barges with lengths over 500 feet and drafts up to 33 feet, dock and unload petroleum products. This dock is located WNW less than 500 feet from the Bucksport Town Dock.

Town of Bucksport Fishing Pier is located down-river in the east channel, at 2,200 feet ESE from the Bucksport Town Dock. 

Verona Island Boat Landing is a State-owned boat launching ramp facility located in the east channel on Verona Island at 1,950 feet ESE from the Bucksport Town Dock. Access to the launch ramp by vehicle is from an access road next to the Bucksport Verona bridge off Route 1.

Moorings:
The harbor accommodates approximately 30 moorings that are privately owned. In addition, the harbor has up to 12 Army Corp permitted rentals owned and managed by Bucksport Marine Services. All moorings are permitted by the town through the harbor master.

Nearby Services: 
The beautiful, mile-long shore-side walking path leads right into the heart of downtown Bucksport. Festivals, musical acts, story walks, and other events are situated along the walking path throughout the spring and summer months. Visitors are able to visit the ice cream parlor, theatre, restaurants, retail stores, post office, grocery store, laundromat and banks with ATMs all situated within walking distance of the marina and town dock facilities.
